Everything we know about Dolly Parton's series coming to Netflix

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A new television series based on country queen Dolly Parton's songs is premiering on Netflix.

"Dolly Parton's Heartstrings" is an eight-part anthology series "celebrating family, faith, forgiveness."

Each episode is based on a Dolly song. The first show in the series is based on her hit "Jolene" and the Hollywood Reporter reports that Julianne Hough stars in the episode.

"Each story will vary in tone, from love stories and inspirational tales to family dramas, westerns, and revenge comedies," Netflix said in a news release.

According to its website, Netflix says the series will also star Dolly herself and each episode will feature classic Dolly music.
