Eddie Murphy is getting honest about why he was frustrated and angry about losing out on the Oscar for his role in “Dreamgirls.”

The comedian was nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category in 2007 for his role as James “Thunder” Early in the musical, but lost out to Alan Arkin, who won for “Little Miss Sunshine.”

Speaking in his new Netflix documentary, “Being Eddie,” the 64-year-old admitted he was more annoyed at having to attend the ceremony than losing the award.

“Not winning the Oscar or not winning anything is not the mindf--k for me. The mindf--k for me is that I get dressed and come to the thing, 'cause I would usually not go to award shows."

He continued, "That's... whenever I lose, I'm like, 'These mother--kers made me come all the way down.' I could have f--king lost at home. I'm all in the f--king tuxedo. What a... a waste of time. I'm never, like, 'Oh, I didn't win.' I'm like, 'Hey, make me come down here for nothing?'”

He added, "It's always wonderful to win stuff, but if I don't win, I don't give a f--k. I still come home, and it's... I'm still Eddie in the morning."

Meanwhile Eddie recently insisted he isn't motivated by accolades and recognition and doesn't "think about winning trophies".

“What’s on my mind is just doing good stuff and only doing stuff that I’m going to have fun doing,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. "I don’t think about winning trophies. I got a bunch of trophies. I got everything but an Oscar, and I’m not like, 'This is going to get the Oscar.'

He continued, "The fact of the matter is, if I never win an Oscar, eventually they’ll give me one of those honorary Oscars when I’m 90 years old. If they made me wait that long, I’m going to wear a sky blue tuxedo, and when they give me the Oscar, I’m going to urinate on myself while I’m giving a speech!"
