Country singer Zach Bryan felt the wrath of Taylor Swift fans Wednesday night after posting a controversial take that forced him off the social platform X.

Bryan deactivated his account on the site formerly known as Twitter after sharing the message, "eagles (greater than sign) chiefs Kanye (greater than sign) Taylor who's with me."

Fans known as "Swifties" quickly came to her defense as well as her Kansas City Chiefs boyfriend Travis Kelce.

In a screenshot of the post shared by Pop Crave, one fan wrote, "He knew not to mess with the Swifties" with another writing, "got all brave just to wimp out and deactivate."

Bryan took to Instagram after the backlash to explain his actions at length.

"For the record guys I wasn't coming for Taylor the other night. I was drunkenly comparing two records and it came out wrong," the artist wrote on his Instagram story. "I know there's a lot of stuff that clouds around Ye and I was speaking purely musically. I love Taylor's music and pray you guys know I'm human and tweet stupid things often. Hope one day I can explain this to her. Twitter gets me in trouble too much and I'd say it's best I stay off it. I'm sorry to any Taylor fans I pissed off or let down. Love you guys and I'm trying my best!"

He went on to explain he has been going through a hard time in life and admitted he came off as rude.

"I've been going through a hard time in my own life and I think I was projecting a little To be completely honest, it just came off as rude and desensitized to Taylor," he wrote. "I respect her so much as a musician that the last thing I want is people thinking I don't appreciate and love what she has done for music. Love you guys and hope you guys understand. Don't drink and tweet. Dont' drink and tweet!!"

The heated rivalry between Swift and Ye began when the rapper interrupted Swift's 2009 VMA acceptance speech for Best Female Video to argue Beyoncé should have won instead.

In February, Swift allegedly had Ye removed from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas before the Super Bowl.

It was reported Yetried to leverage Swift’s cameo appearances during the television broadcast of the game by purchasing seats directly in front of her.

A representative for the rapper denied the claims.
