(KUTV) - Discovery Channel’s Diesel Brothers are coming to the rescue!
After seeing a viral video of a Utah man being verbally accosted by a Weber County man when his truck broke down outside his campsite, Dave “Heavy D” Sparks decided to help out Jose Caballero and his family.
“The video just triggered something inside of me that thought, we’re better than this!” Sparks said. “He deserves to know that’s not how things happen here in the US. Especially in Utah. Utah’s a very family oriented community.”
Jose Caballero and his family worked for hours to get the truck out of the Blacksmith Fork Canyon campground. Ultimately, Caballero said they had to pay camper Wyatt Pack to move the truck out of Pack’s campground.
“He actually told us if we were to leave, by tomorrow all of our stuff would be burnt down [...] So he was like alright I’ll move it for you but you have to pay me $200 bucks,” Caballero said. “We ended up giving him $45.”
Sparks and his crew are working on repairing Caballero’s truck. They will repair mechanical issues, install a new audio system, and upgrade the interior of Caballero’s Ford F-350.
“We’re probably going to put $15-20,000 worth of modifications, upgrades and repairs into it. And we’ve got some surprises for Jose and his family beyond the truck, so we’re really excited for the reveal!”
The community has also donated money for some additional goodies that will be revealed in a couple weeks, when all the work is done.
