Actor and comedian Dana Carvey — along with his wife, Paula — announced a family tragedy, late Thursday afternoon.

They posted on social media that their son Dex "died of an accidental drug overdose" on Wednesday night at the age of 32.

The Carveys wrote that Dex "packed a lot into those 32 years," mentioning he was "extremely talented" in the areas of music, filmmaking, and comedy.

They ended by saying, "To anyone struggling with addiction or who loves someone struggling with addiction, you are in our hearts and prayers."
