DALLAS, Texas (WOAI/KABB) – A Dallas artist painted a mural in the Graffiti Arts District to honor actor Chadwick Boseman after his death in late August.

The actor was best known as his portrayal of superhero Black Panther. Boseman passed away from stage III colon cancer.

The artist wanted fans to light up with smiles, those old and young to remember his impact on film and in popular culture.

"Chadwick was a great person and a great legend and we're all going to miss him. We're getting one last look at him and it's the way he is, it's a positive influence for all of us," saidMollee Petrie.

People came out to get their "Wakanda Forevaa Shot" by the massive mural.

"He was well-known and loved and he was a great actor," said visitor Lloyd Lewis from Arkansas.

Photojournalist Robert Flagg captured video and pictures of those who came out to celebrate the actor's life.
