(KUTV) It's another busy release month for Netflix as the streaming service adds a massive amount of original content including new seasons of "A Series of Unfortunate Events," "Santa Clarita Diet" and "Trolls: the Beat Goes On" a new episode of "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman," a remake of the classic children's film "Benji" and a healthy selection of catalog titles like "Cruel Intentions," "50 First Dates" and "Wet Hot American Summer."

Here are ten titles that I'd recommend putting in your queue.

Adventureland

Released in 2009 “Adventureland” was Greg Mottola’s (“Superbad”) love note to the amusement park that he had worked at in the 1980s. The film debuted at the Sundance Film Festival and paired the talents of Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart with Ryan Reynolds, Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig in supporting roles. If you enjoyed 2013’s “The Way Way Back” with Sam Rockwell, “Adventureland” is similar, but is built around slightly older protagonists. There are thousands of coming-of-age films, but the good ones, like “Adventureland,” keep the subgenre relevant.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

My biggest blind spot as a critic is contemporary comedy. I just don’t connect with or find much of it to be all that funny. The exception seems to be Jason Segel films (with the exception of the unredeemable “Sex Tape” and “Gulliver’s Travels”). “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” is vulgar, has its share of awkward nudity and also happens to be funny and poignant as Paul (Segel) takes a vacation in Hawaii only to find that his ex and her new boyfriend have come to the island as well. Certain scenes might be a little too much for some viewers, but if you’ve ever found yourself feeling brokenhearted “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” might help you laugh at yourself. Along with Segel, the film stars Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, Russell Brand and Bill Hader.

Ghostbusters

After a year spent away from Netflix, “Ghostbusters” returns like a prodigal son to the streaming service. Released in 1984 (one of the better years for cinema), “Ghostbusters” was a phenomenon that captured the imaginations of adults and children alike. Whereas 1982’s “Poltergeist” convinced me that there was nothing more terrifying than a ghost story, “Ghostbusters” flipped the narrative and actually had me trilled by the possibility of running into a full-torso free-roaming vaporous apparition. For those looking for a double feature, its sequel, "Ghostbusters 2," is also returning to Netflix.

Moon

Regardless of how you feel about “Mute,” the latest film from director/writer Duncan Jones, most can agree that his debut film, “Moon,” is a fascinating watch. The film stars Sam Rockwell as Sam Bell, an astronaut working in isolation on the moon with only messages from home and his computer, GERTY, to keep him from going mad. Small discoveries lead to huge revelations as Sam begins to question who and what he really is.

Up in the Air

Jason Reitman ("Juno") directs George Clooney, Vera Farmiga and Anna Kendrick in the critically acclaimed “Up in the Air.” Clooney stars as Ryan Bingham, a professional “downsizer,” who is hired by companies to fire their employees so they don’t have to. With the economy in a perpetual downward slump, Bingham hires idealistic Natalie Keener (Anna Kendrick) to aid him in spreading the bad news. In his travels, he meets Alex Goran (Farmiga), a kindred spirit that threatens to change the way he sees the world.

The Descent

In 2005 writer/director Neil Marshall gave us “The Descent,” a horror film that sent six women into an unexplored system of caves where they find a horde of creatures that are intent on devouring those who have strayed into their caverns. Simple and effective, “The Descent” is a wicked terror ride.

Voltron: Legendary Defender: Season 5 -- NETFLIX ORIGINAL

I’ve celebrated the release of each season of “Voltron: Legendary Defender” as the rebooted take on the eighties franchise has proven to not only be wildly entertaining, but also better in the original in just about every way imaginable. I’ll have more to say about this season later in the week, but fans will be surprised by how much happens in these five new episodes. Many answers, a few new questions. (Available 3/2/18)

Marvel's Jessica Jones: Season 2 -- NETFLIX ORIGINAL

Following her stint in the Defenders, Jessica Jones returns with the second season of her series. The character, played brilliantly by Krysten Ritter, had arguably the strongest season of any of the Netflix Marvel series with only Daredevil as her real competition. Will you be calling in sick or taking a vacation day? (Available 3/8/18)

Little Women

Susan Sarandon, Winona Ryder, Kirsten Dunst, Claire Danes, Christian Bale, Gabriel Byrne and John Neville in this sublime 1994 adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel. Need I say more? (3/28/18)

Let Me In

Let Me In,” the English-language adaptation of John Ajvide Lindqvist’s novel “Let the Right One In” is not a direct remake of the Swedish film (which Lindqvist provides the screenplay). Writer/director Matt Reeves (“Cloverfield,” “War for the Planet of the Apes”) had no idea that the Swedish film would be a hit went he set out to adapt the novel. It is true that the story is essentially the same (they both even feature identical endings that differ from the novel), but the way it is told is different. If you pay close attention you’ll realize that the two films, while similar, are told from slightly different perspectives. One seems to mirror the other.

The story is about Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee), a lonely boy, who establishes a bond with Abby (Chloë Grace Moretz), the enigmatic young girl who turns out to be a vampire.

I love both versions of the film as they touch upon the vulnerability of youth and the desperate need to be loved. (3/31/18)
