SANDUSKY, Ohio (WKRC) - A fan-favorite ride at Cedar Point will be closing for good in 2024.
Snake River Falls was constructed by Arrow Dynamics over 30 years ago. It's a shoot-the-chutes water ride, which is almost identical to a log flume but with a larger raft and more seating.
Recurring maintenance issues forced the company to decide to retire the ride. But after over 30 years and over 15 million riders, it will be missed.
Snake River Falls features an 82-foot lift hill that plunges into a 40 mph drop. When riders splash into the water, a wave washes over a viewing platform above the water.
Labor Day will be the last day of operation for Snake River Falls.
