The cause of death for a Taylor Swift fan who attended a concert in Brazil has been revealed, according to a forensics report obtained by the Associated Press.

The report byRio's Forensic Medical Institute saidAna Clara Benevides, 23, went into cardiorrespiratory arrest brought on by heat exposure during the Nov. 17 Eras Tour show in Rio de Janeiro.Benevides passed out during Swift's second song "Cruel Summer."

According to the document, she didn't havepreexisting conditions or substance abuse that would have caused her death. It also said Benevides suffered "serious compromise of her lungs and sudden death” from the heat.

Temperatures in the city that day were around 105 degrees Fahrenheit.

Many fans took to social media to complain that they weren't allowed to bring water bottles intoNilton Santos Stadium. One of Benevides’ friends who also went to the concert told local media outlets that they had been given water while waiting to enter the stadium.

Elizabeth Morin, who had recently moved to Rio from Los Angeles, described “sauna-like” conditions inside the stadium when speaking with the AP about her experience.

It was extremely hot. My hair got so wet from sweat as soon as I came in,” she said. “There was a point at which I had to check my breathing to make sure I wasn’t going to pass out.”

Swift posted a statement to Instagram afterBenevides' death, saying she had a "shattered heart" and felt "overwhelmed by grief."

"I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil," she said.

The pop star also postponed the concert slated for the next day, Nov. 18, citing extreme temperatures and emphasizing that "the safety and well-being of my fans, fellow performers, and crew has to and always will come first."

"It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Ana Clara Benevides Machado, 23 years old," concert organizers T4F said in an Instagram statement. "Last night, Ana Clara felt unwell and was promptly attended to by the team of firefighters and paramedics, being taken to the medical center atNilton Santos Stadium for first aid protocol. Given the situation, the medical team chose to transfer her to Salgado Filho Hospital, where, after almost an hour of emergency care, she unfortunately died. To the family and friends of Ana Clara Benevides Machado, our sincere condolences."

T4F has denied it didn't allow fans to bring their own water to the show.

The official Eras Tour X account later posted that water bottles would be allowed into the stadium for remaining Eras Tour shows in Rio.

According to the AP, the office of Rio’s public prosecutor has opened a criminal investigation. Rio police said Wednesday that after the forensics report is analyzed, “representatives of the company organizing the event will be called to testify.”
