'I never forgot you... ever': Blue's Clues fans hear message from original host Steve

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — On the 25th anniversary of "Blue's Clues" fans were delighted to see Steve return with a message that left some viewers in tears.

In a 2:02 minute video clip shared by Nick Jr. fans finally got to hear what Steve has been up to since he got on the bus.

"You remember how when you were younger, we used to run around and hang out with Blue, and find clues and talk to Mr. Salt and freak out about the mail and do all the fun stuff, and then one day I was like,"'Oh hey, guess what? Big news... I'm leaving.'"

Blue's Clues was a big hit among children in the mid-90's to early 2000s. Steve and Blue always lead children on an adventure that required fans to help find clues.

Steve went on to say, "Can we talk about that?" referencing when he left the show. He admitted that it was kind of abrupt.

The Blue's Clue host said he went off to college after departing the show, and that it was really challenging but great.

"I got to use my mind and take a step at a time, and now I literally am doing many of the things that I wanted to do," Steve said.

Steve then directed his attention to the Blue's Clues viewers. "Look at all that you have done, and all you have accomplished in all that time, and it's just... it's just so amazing, right?"

"And I wanted to tell you that I really couldn't have done all of that without your help, and in fact, all the help that you helped me with when we were younger is still helping me today, right now," said Steve.

Steve finished the video saying, "I never forgot you...ever, and I'm super glad we're still friends."
