Basketball star Caitlin Clark breaks Pete Maravich's NCAA Division I scoring record

Basketball star Caitlin Clark became the all-time leading scorer in major college basketball on Sunday.

Clark scored 35 points, while recording nine assists and six rebounds. She broke LSU’s Pete Maravich’s record of 3,667 points on a free throw near the end of the second quarter, putting her at the top of theNCAA Division I scoring chart.

The Iowa Hawkeyes beat the second-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes 93-83 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Iowa plays next in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals later this week in Minneapolis.

Clark said Thursday that she will be entering the 2024 WNBA Draft, meaning she'll be leaving the University of Iowa team after the current season.

She has one more year of eligibility with the team.
