SAN ANTONIO (WOAI/KABB) - Doo doo doo doo doo you like the children’s song "Baby Shark?"

Because you are not alone. Billboard ranked the children's song at No. 32 in its Top 100 hits. Additionally, the song has become a popular meme and many people are taking part in the “Baby Shark Challenge.”

For those not familiar, “Baby Shark” is a participatory children’s song, where listeners are encouraged to mimic the movements of a shark (from the eponymous youngest to oldest member of the shark family) by moving their hands arms back and forth, to simulate biting.

The song's exact origins date back decades, but was recreated in 2016 by Pinkfong, a South Korea-based educational brand. Their version of the song and music video has been the basis for the track's meme status. The so-called “Baby Shark Challenge” has listeners dancing along to the song and following its commands. Parents and children are taking heed to this challenge with social media services, such as the app TikTok.
