Four major celebrities will be lending their star power to the“March for Our Lives” in D.C.
Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Miley Cyrus, and Demi Lovato will be performing and marching the with the hundreds of thousands of people expected to protest gun violence on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington. The demonstration was put together by students who survived the deadly Valentine's Day shooting in Parkland, Florida.
"We're gonna have four major independent women that are standing with us and walking beside us, and those are Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato," said Parkland survivor David Hogg said in a press release. "They're gonna be standing there with us and marching with us and they're some of the few people that are really coming out and stepping up with us."
The event was announced by Parkland students just days after 17 people were killed when a gunman opened fire February 14 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Police later arrested 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz and charged him with 17 counts of premeditated murder.
Since the shooting, millions have rallied in a national uprising for gun reform, all leading up to the March for Our Lives in D.C. on March 24.
