SPOILER ALERT: Proceed with caution if you aren’t caught up on ‘And Just Like That’ season three.

Could Carrie Bradshaw be going through a midlife crisis in “And Just Like That” season three?

We ask because the Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) we know would never have reacted the way she did when Aiden (John Corbett) dropped a huge bombshell: he cheated on her! And it was with his ex-wife Kathy (Rosemaire DeWitt), with whom he shares three sons Wyatt, Tate, and Homer. The latter two were introduced in the original series “Sex and the City” series and the second movie, respectively.

“What do you mean you slept with Kathy?” - Carrie Bradshaw

In episode six of the "Sex and the City" spinoff, fittingly titled “Silent Mode,” Carrie not only seems unfazed by Aiden revealing the hookup happened, but she also later gets in bed to have sex with him that same night. While we collectively pick our jaws off the ground, Carrie redeems herself in our eyes after this exchange.

When Aiden claims his infidelity was a “mistake” and “would never happen again,” Carrie has a revelation of her own, saying, “I understand how that could happen.” The two have been in a complicated long-distance relationship after Aiden decided to move to Virginia and asked Carrie to wait five years for him so he could focus on being the primary parent to his youngest child.

“We agreed to wait for each other, and I slept with someone else,” Aiden screamed.

Carrie calmly replied, “I didn’t agree to that...You expected me not to sleep with anyone else for 5 years?”

Seems like a big ask for both parties if you ask us. But Carrie’s response brought back the confident energy we are used to. Still, the payback for cheating should not be slipping on lingerie for Aiden after he broke his promise to remain faithful.

Aiden’s big question to Carrie is if she “wants to sleep with other people” as they continue to live apart. Even though Carrie replied “no,” we have a feeling she’s been considering it in the back of her mind. Loyal fans wouldn’t blame her, especially now that she’s steps away from her successful neighbor, novelist Duncan, who is right downstairs. Might we add they seem compatible – both are writers living in the Big Apple -- and if it’s any indication of showing interest in each other, sharing an exclusive first look at each other’s book drafts seems kind of romantic.

Judging from how Aiden reacted when he came face-to-face with Carrie’s downstairs neighbor, calling him Duncan “like Dunkin Donuts,” we think he’s got a hunch there’s chemistry between the two, too.

Beyond the rocky romance, Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker) is mourning a family loss while Charlotte (Kristin Davis) is still coping with her husband Harry’s (Evan Handler) health diagnosis in secret. She eventually spills the cancer news to one of her friends. And if you missed it, find out how Charlotte foreshadowed Harry’s prostate cancer in previous seasons.

‘And Just Like That’ airs new episodes Thursdays on HBO Max.
