CAMDEN, S.C. (WACH) — A seven-month-old from Kershaw County tested positive for coronavirus.

Emmett Doster's case was confirmed Tuesday at Urgent Care in Elgin.

Courtney Doster, Emmett's mother, said the baby boy's grandmother tested positive for the virus Saturday.

The Doster family is now under a legal contract with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control to remain under quarantine until April 1, 2020.

The family of five includes Emmett, a 4-year old and a 2-year-old. The rest of the family has not been tested but are not experiencing symptoms at this time.

"He woke up from a nap running a fever so we were going to wait it out and see but my mom tested positive for the virus as well," said Doster.

Doster said Emmett had a 104 degree fever Monday and the family had trouble figuring out where to get the tests with DHEC.

"It's really sad to watch him. He's been poked so many times in the last 24 hours, so we are just glad he's home and hoping he doesn't take a turn for the worse," said Doster

Doster posted Emmett's story to spread awareness and it has gone viral.

For now, like the rest of the world, the Doster family is taking it one day at a time.
