Morgan Wallen to appear in court later this summer for chair-tossing arrest
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Country music star Morgan Wallen didn't have to show face at his hearing Friday morning, but he is expected appear at his next court date in August.
The “Sand in My Boots” singer is charged with felony reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct charges for throwing a chairfrom the rooftop of Chief's bar last month. The chair landed about three feet away from where a few Metro Police officers were standing.
"The court has formally waived Morgan Wallen's appearance on Friday, May 3 as his presence is not required to advance the case," his attorney Worrick Robinson told FOX 17 News. "The Office of the District Attorney has been notified of the Appearance Waiver."
Wallen has spoken out about the April 7 arrest, saying he's "not proud" of his behavior.
He's expected to appear at his next hearing on August 15.
Wallen is performing three concerts at Nissan Stadium this week as part of his "One Night at a Time" tour. He also snagged six ACM Awards nominationsthe same week as his chair-throwing arrest.
